KANGPOKPI, 19^th July, 2017 (DIPR): Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister and Local MLA, Smt Nemcha Kipgen today crossed the ‘heavy flowing Gundung (Imphal) river’ to reach out to those affected by recent earth fissure at Haijang Village and UJB School, Kangpokpi District and closely surveyed the affected areas.

            During the visit, Minister Nemcha hails public safety to be of utmost priority now; So experts will soon be deputed to assess the areas so as to avoid further damages and calamities like situation. She assured all possible help for the affected people from the government side and urged them not to panic at the present prevailing situation.

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister also inspected the earth fissure at Twilang Road (also known as IT Road) along with the officials and make sure that the situation is under control.

The Ministerial team includes Principal Secretary (Cooperation) and Kangpokpi District In-charge, Shri P. Vaiphei, DC, Kangpokpi Shri T. Ranjit Singh and SP, Kangpokpi, Shri M. Pradip Singh. (DIPR)
